According to Infinity ward, there is going to be a change in how the Killstreaks work in Modern Warfare 3. What you’ve become accustomed to will no longer be the same. One of the biggest changes will occur within the gameplay mechanics, which will be undergoing a major overhaul before the next version of the Call of Duty game will be released in November.

This news came from Robert Bowling who is part of the developer. As far as the specifics of the changes goes, we have not received any information up to this point other than the statement from Bowling claiming that the entire killstreak system had been changed. Gamers will see a major difference in how killstreaks and many other functions of the game work when they get their hands on Modern Warfare 3 for the first time.
While changing the way that killstreaks work and tweaking other functions within the MW3 game might end up being a good thing, there will be controversy and speculation until we hear exactly what is happening. Critics are already skeptical of the new release because of statements made about other changes that have been made to the new system. One example of this is the fact that the nuke, which was a major trademark of the Modern Warfare 2 game, will not be returning in the next edition of Modern Warfare. While many are indifferent with regard to this change, there are some who feel that making too cuts like this could drastically alter the face of the game in it’s entirety.
There have been some rumors about items that will be made available for killstreaks. Here are some of the items that made the list: airdrop trap, stealth bomber, ammo resupply, escort airdrop, littlebird, EMP grenade, specialist strike package, remote turret, and more.
