MapMonkeys to test Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer

How do you test a new game for glitches or holes that can be exploited? Why not hire a bunch of gamers who are determined to find every hole in your programming? That’s exactly what Activision has done with for it’s newest addition to the Modern Warfare franchise, Modern Warfare 3. They have hired mapMonkeys which is a group of gamers who do just that. These gamers play the game strictly for the purpose of finding glitches that can be exploited. Talk about the perfect quality control strategy!
Four members from the mapMonkeys team are being flown out to California for the purpose of testing Modern Warfare 3 before it’s big upcoming release. Members of the team will make every attempt to find errors, glitches, holes, or other types of flaws in the game. The four mapMonkeys who are being flown out to perform the testing have been called on before to do the same job. In fact, they were called on to perform the same testing for Modern Warfare 2 as well as Call of Duty: World at War. Unfortunately they didn’t have very much time so they weren’t able to complete as much testing as they would have liked. This time, they will have an entire week to find as many bugs as possible.
Rezzo, who is the founder of mapMonkeys states that while this type of activity is something that they normally wouldn’t participate in, they simply cannot let the opportunity pass by. Normally, they would rather wait until a game has been released before they go to work on it. Rezzo plans to share his opinion on the game once they return, but he assures that he will not spoil the surprise.
Robert Bowling has confirmed the fact that the members from mapMonkeys will be flying out to perform there testing. He insists, however, that they certainly will not be the only ones doing the testing on the new release. There will be plenty of testers on hand to find any bugs that need to be fixed.
Bowling does not deny the fact that the mapMonkeys will be there to help test the multiplayer game play action. He states that while they are testing their focus will be on finding exploits and glitches, which is what they are good at. Bowling expresses that the new multiplayer mode has already been undergoing extensive testing.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is the latest addition to the Modern Warfare franchise and while it has some pretty big shoes to fill, many feel that it could very well be the best version yet. Whether or not that is true remains to be seen as gamers around the world patiently await its release.
